Volunteers

Our North Texas Chapter is excited to be expanding our efforts in the Tyler/Longview area as we continue to work towards a cure for blood cancers. We are seeking committed, enthusiastic volunteers to serve on our development committee, subcommittees, and during project activities.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has programs that allow you to coordinate your talents and passions with finding a cure for blood cancers. These programs include:

  • Team in Training-an endurance program for marathoners, cyclists, hikers and triathletes.
  •  School and Youth-a program designed for children in elementary through high school providing them lessons in service, leadership, and philanthropy as they collect spare change.
  •  Light the Night -a casual fundraising walk with no fitness requirements in which anyone can take part - children, adults, and seniors are all welcome.
  •  Patient Services -coordinates and facilitates educational seminars, support groups, peer connection programs, financial aid, conferences, advocacy networks and many other programs in North Texas.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for those who need a flexible commitment. Community members and leaders who are interested in connecting with their community as they help improve the lives of blood cancer patients and their families can be involved with specific short-term projects or participate on a year-long basis.
